The brief
Design a peristaltic pump and take it to a set of drawings a workshop could manufacture from.
What I did
We produced a design-for-manufacture report, written manufacturing instructions and a full technical drawing set. The drawings covered a 22-tooth and a 66-tooth gear (a 3:1 reduction), the casing and base, a bottle-to-tube connector, a standard-size connector, the triangular frame and the attacher.
We selected bearings and tubing from supplier data sheets and specified tolerances, fits and allowances on every drawing.
Result
A complete drawing and documentation package that someone else could build the pump from.
